Another Successful Year at Blackmores Sydney Running Festival
Monday, 30th September 2013

On Sunday 22nd September a team of over 100 participants and 30 volunteers took part in yet another successful instalment of the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival. The team from Shake It Up raised over $64,000, with 100% of all money raised going directly to fund the world’s leading Parkinson’s research in Australia.

The morning started early for some with Shake It Up being represented in both the Half- and Full- Marathon. However, for the vast majority, the event gave a unique opportunity to take in the surrounds of the Sydney CBD in a truly unique way in the 3.km fun run and 9km bridge run.

Shake It Up ambassadors, Lachie Turner and Eric Grothe Junior lead the team over Sydney’s Harbour Bridge down to the botanical gardens in what only can be described as a picture-perfect summer’s day!

Clyde #1 Again!

Shake It Up Founding Director, Clyde Campbell again took the prize of being the highest fundraiser. With Suncorp Bank donating $2000 to the team total for his efforts. Clyde was ecstatic to receive the honour of being number one fundraiser and later said: “It is great to see the Shake It Up contingent grow at this year’s event and more money raised for Parkinson’s research. It was a fantastic day!’

Telum makes the highest donation!

Our highest individual donation for a 2nd year in row was from Jim Castrisos, Director at labour hire and recruitment solutions company Telum. On behalf of Telum Jim donated $10,000 adding to both Clyde’s and the Shake It Up Team’s tally. This donation played a big role in helping us to achieve number 1 status.  Many thanks to Jim and the team from Telum!
