The ‘Budgy Boys’ from Narrabeen Anytime Fitness support Parkinson’s
Saturday, 15th September 2018

When we were approached by the ‘budgy boys’ from Narrabeen Anytime Fitness to fundraise for Shake It Up, we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into! The boys, who ran a huge 50km from Bondi to Narrabeen in one day, did a fantastic job fundraising and getting the message out there about a cure for Parkinson’s. And all while dressed in their budgy smugglers! The team had some great advice for people looking to Shake It Up when we chatted with them post-run.

What Drives Your Commitment to find a cure for Parkinson’s?

For most of us, seeing the impact Parkinson’s Disease had on our friends and loved ones is what drove us to help raise funds to fight it.

Why Shake It Up Australia?

We love the work Shake It Up has done so far in fighting Parkinson’s and we also love the way Shake It Up encourages people to raise money; ‘By getting up and moving for those that can’t!’

Tell us what you are doing/did to Shake Things Up?

We ran 50km from Bondi to Narrabeen in Budgy Smugglers with this raising over $5000 to combat Parkinson’s Disease!

Greatest Reward

Besides raising money for Parkinson’s Research, the greatest reward was seeing people’s necks turn and getting beeped by cars as we ran along crowded streets in our Budgy Smugglers!

Best advice for people looking to Shake It Up?

Be creative and don’t be afraid to push yourself!
