Each week we profile the many amazing supporters around the country that are fundraising for Parkinson’s research.    Today we shine the spotlight on our  highest individual fundraisers for 2017- the Spano Group

Spanos IGA are becoming well known for their wonderful race days on the Gold Coast.    For the past four years Shake It Up has been very fortunate to be the beneficiary of this wonderful event and are incredibly thankful for their support.

The event is held at the Gold Coast Turf Club each year and last year saw 500 people come together for a wonderful day of food, entertainment, auctions, raffles and of course horse racing.

The 2017 race day saw the Spano’s take it to new heights, raising over $54,000 for Parkinson’s research and bringing their total raised over the past 4 years to over $200,000.  With 100% of all funds being directed into Parkinson’s research their contribution to Shake It Up is making a real difference in finding better treatments and ultimately a cure for Parkinson’s.

Our founder Clyde Campbell was honoured to attend the 2017 event to thank both the Spano’s and the attendees for their amazing support.

On behalf of the team at Shake It Up and the entire Parkinson’s community we thank you!

If you would like to get involved and host your own event to raise funds for Parkinson’s research we would love to hear from you.  Please email at enquiries@shakeitup.org.au or call us on 1300 361 803.
