Lennox Head Lunch Raised $30k for Shake It Up
Friday, 22nd June 2018

On the 22nd June 2018 Shake It Up hosted its annual charity lunch at the Beef and Beach restaurant Lennox Head.  The day saw the local community come together in support of Parkinson’s and raise $30k for research. Of course, days like this would not be possible without the incredible support of the community for attending, our sponsors at the Beef and Beach Restaurant for providing us with the venue and amazing food and service and Seven Mile Brewing Co for sharing their story and providing the endless schooners of beer.

Special thanks also to our MC Nick Walheim and all the local businesses that supported the event by donating raffle prizes. Riley Burnett, Surfit Gym, Inner Beauty, Anchor Chief, Lennox Sanctum, Head Room Hair, Brand Stable, Happy Socks, Samantha Wills and Flex Fit Australia.

While supporters enjoyed the views, beers and food, Clyde Campbell shared some of the foundation’s highlights since establishment only three years ago. In particular, he noted that we have now co-funded over $10.4M to Australian Parkinson’s research across 28 different projects at 12 separate research institutes – a remarkable achievement.

He also reaffirmed his and his brother’s commitment to fund all of the foundation’s overhead costs which ensures 100% of all donations received go to research. Finally, he emphasised that we can only continue our work through community support and he thanked the people from all around the country that have decided to get involved by hosting their own events to support Shake It Up.
