What a fantastic effort from our top fundraiser for Pause 4 Parkinson’s 2017. It was a combined group effort led by Steve, Sharyn, Craig and Trudi, who were also supported by a team of many others. Through hosting a BBQ at their home and getting their workplace involved they raised over $17,700 for Shake It Up .
Seeing the impact of Parkinson’s on a family member inspired them to get involved and not only raise funds for Parkinson’s research but also to raise awareness and share the impact this disease has on the lives of so many people. Great result, well done to the entire team!
What Drives Your Commitment to find a cure for Parkinson’s?
Having seen the effects it has on someone’s personal life and how they have to struggle through each and every day battling this disease I am very driven to do what I can to help find a cure for Parkinson’s.
Why Shake It Up Australia?
I believe in the Shake it Up Foundation, by that I mean it is run by people who are actually affected in some way by this disease and therefore have a firsthand understanding of its effects on people and that every cent committed goes to the cause.
Tell us what you are doing to Shake Things Up?
Apart being involved in the recent World Parkinson’s Day fundraiser I like to raise awareness of how this disease effects sufferers. I do this at work and amongst family and friends. I have done some research into the disease and get updated by receiving your newsletter.
Seeing peoples reaction and understanding. During the fundraiser we all shared our knowledge of Parkinson’s with others and to see their response and generosity is truly heart-warming.
