Young Onset Parkinson’s supporters take on the Point to Pinnacle
Thursday, 2nd December 2021

A big thank you and huge congratulations go to our Point to Pinnacle heroes this week who completed the gruelling challenge last weekend for Shake It Up. We had our biggest contingent of supporters in the Point to Pinnacle ever this year, thanks to our regular supporters and some new faces.

Olivia Bailey and her family have been supporting Shake It Up through the Point to Pinnacle since 2017, inspired by Olivia’s husband who was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson’s. Thank you Olivia for supporting us year on year in the fight for a cure for Parkinson’s.

A new team also joined Point to Pinnacle this year to support Shake It Up. Sonya Enkelmann and her supporters rallied together the Young Onset Parkinson’s Team to take on the challenge with a heartfelt message. Sonya, only recently diagnosed, said of Parkinson’s, “My diagnosis has brought many gifts as well as challenges. It has focused my mind on what is important to me. It helps me to live in the moment and be kinder to myself. I don’t kid myself however. If I could give up this thing of Parkinson’s, I would. In a heartbeat.”

Together, all involved in the Point to Pinnacle this year have made a huge impact towards progression Parkinson’s Research by fundraising $10,423. A big thank you to them for their hard work and effort to make a difference towards the future of Parkinson’s.
