Shake It Up is very excited to have been selected as a house charity for The Scots College in Sydney.

The Scots College has a strong community service program which allows the boys to develop and demonstrate care, respect and compassion to those outside the College community. Each of the houses at the College is asked to select a charity and raise funds through various fundraising activities throughout the year.

The selection of the charity is made entirely by the boys where they are asked to nominate and deliver a presentation on their charity which is then put to a vote. The nomination for Shake It Up was made by Year 10 student Josh Campbell of Anderson House, who is passionate about supporting the cause after his Dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s at the age of 44. Josh’s Dad also happens to be the founder of Shake It Up and is very excited to have the boys championing the cause.

As a part of their fundraising efforts the boys will hold a series of lunchtime barbecues at the School where they are fully responsible for the event; from flyers, signage, ordering, rostering and cooking and managing the whole event.

Today we feature some pictures of their most recent barbecue which was organised by the Year 10 boys who were very busy cooking and selling sausage sandwiches and drinks raising much needed funds for Australian Parkinson’s Research.

This was an amazing team effort and they should all be very proud of their passion and commitment.
