Shake It Up Heroes: Lennox Head Golden Oldies
Friday, 7th November 2014

The Lennox Head Golden Oldies are a group of 55 men passionate about football, their mates and giving back to the community. Like many Golden Oldies Rugby groups around the world they contribute their time and raise funds for causes close to their heart. Last week they made a $3000 donation to Shake It Up making them real heroes in our eyes.

What Drives Your Commitment to find a cure for Parkinson’s?

The Golden Oldies contribute to many local charitable organisations. With Shake It Up being foundered by well-known local businessmen Clyde & Greg Campbell it was a natural selection for us. We also appreciate that Parkinson’s is something that affects so many families in our region and around Australia. We would love to contribute to making life easier for those families.

Why Shake It Up Australia?

Quite simply, the knowledge that the 100% of  funds will be contributed to research being conducted in Australia makes Shake It Up a clear choice. Additionally, directors of the Foundation, Greg Campbell, Andrew Mulcahy & Noel Holmes are members of the Lennox Golden Oldies.

Tell us what you are doing to Shake Things Up?

Golden Oldies run a raffle each week at our local hotel which allows us to make contributions like this. We also get behind events being run by the Foundation and their supporters in the local area.

Greatest Reward?

Being able to support the investment in research being carried out in Australia to find a cure for Parkinson’s.
