Teage Ezard

Teage Ezard is recognised as one of Australia’s most renowned chefs and restaurateurs.  In 1999, Teage opened his first restaurant, EZARD, which offered a fine dining experience within a stylish basement of Melbourne’s CBD.  Within its first year of opening, EZARD was awarded best new restaurant, along with two Chef Hats, in The Age’s Good Food Guide. The chef’s profile was catapulted onto the international stage in 2004, when he joined forces with Hong Kong’s JIA Boutique Hotel to launch two restaurants– Opia and Y’s. Inspired by his trips to Asia, Teage then launched the hawker-style eatery GINGERBOY back in Australia in 2006, and it quickly became one of Melbourne’s most iconic laneway restaurants. 2011 saw Ezard expand to Sydney, opening BLACK by ezard as part of The Star’s multi-million dollar redevelopment.

Teage’s personal journey with Parkinson’s disease began when he first started experiencing a symptom several years ago. He was then recently diagnosed with multiple system atrophy-cerebellar type (MSA-C). As an ambassador for Shake It Up, Teage is committed to supporting the important work of the foundation and raising crucial funds for research. He hopes to drive greater awareness of Parkinson’s and support key activities and initiatives that can be enjoyed by everyone who has been touched by this disease.
