1. We create a culture of collaboration within the Australian Parkinson’s research community.
Our partnership with The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) provides opportunities for real time sharing of data and tools to accelerate knowledge and speed progress towards breakthroughs. This collaborative approach includes regular workshops and forums with some of Australia’s best and brightest in Parkinson’s research.
2. We fund only world’s best cutting edge research in Australia that is internationally competitive.
Our partnership with MJFF gives confidence that the research we fund in Australia is internationally competitive. All funded research is first assessed and validated by the expert panel of scientists at MJFF to eliminate redundancy of research around the globe. Once approved, the research projects are monitored and benchmarked by a team of formally trained PhDs and business-trained project managers.
3. We provide an opportunity for Parkinson’s patients, their loved ones and all members of the community.
Shake It Up is committed to providing innovative and collaborative opportunities to inspire the Australian community to act in greater numbers than ever and be a part of our quest to find the cure. We’ve created the opportunity for everyone to be able to create their own fundraising challenge, join an existing fundraising event, donate to research, or contribute to clinical trials.

In August 2011, Shake It Up Australia Foundation established a collaboration with The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) to leverage Parkinson’s drug development expertise In Australia.

Shake It Up is acutely aware of the limited resources available in a competitive market and the need for Parkinson’s research funds to be managed efficiently if we are to accelerate the path to a cure.
For Researchers
In August 2011, Shake It Up established a Partnership with The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Under this partnership Shake It Up disburses funds in Australia to grantees identified through the MJFF process.
