Today, on World Parkinson’s Day, we come together to support the more than 200,000 Australians living with Parkinson’s disease and the 38 people who will be newly diagnosed today.
Parkinson’s is the second most common neurological disease in Australia—and it’s rising. While treatments help manage symptoms, there is still no cure.
That’s why today, we’re asking: Will you help fund the research that could change everything?
At Shake It Up, 100% of every dollar donated goes directly to Australian Parkinson’s research—supporting cutting-edge projects into causes, better treatments, and ultimately, a cure.

Can you help us fund research projects like this one?
This year, we commenced funding on a potentially game-changing study led by Professor Lezanne Ooi at the University of Wollongong. Her team is investigating how environmental chemicals could be contributing to Parkinson’s disease.
Using advanced stem cell models derived from human brain cells, this project is examining how substances like pesticides, PFAS, nanoplastics and other everyday toxins affect the brain—and whether they play a role in triggering Parkinson’s.
This is just one of our active research projects. And we need your help to keep funding more.
