Shane Hutton from The Ultra Life doesn’t do things by half. Last year he did a 230km run around Port Phillip Bay raising $10,000 for Shake It Up in the process. A new year: a new challenge. On March 26th Shane has decided to embark on a challenge that will see him run from the northern most point of Tasmania to the Southern, a distance of over 600km.

Those who have spent time in Tasmania will appreciate the challenges Shane will face. The run will be mostly off-road and wilderness running as well include seven nights of self-supported bush camping. There will be riverboat crossings as well as remote aircraft food drops.

With loads of mud and the genuine potential of snow, this challenge will provide a real test for the accomplished runner. Shane’s ambitions have extended off course as he has the goal of raising $27,000 for Shake It Up! If successful, Shane’s fundraising efforts will provide the necessary funds for Shake It Up to fund an additional strategic Parkinson’s research grant in Australia.
