Do you know a clinician who might be interested in contributing to a Parkinson’s study?

The purpose of the Australian Parkinson’s Pain Study (APPS) is to investigate the characteristics and management of pain in Parkinson’s. As part of this project, the research team is now conducting a series of interviews with clinicians to explore the enablers of, and barriers to, the management of Parkinson’s pain.

Who can participate?

Clinicians that: (a) are currently registered to practice as a neurologist, general practitioner, exercise physiologist, physiotherapist, or nurse in Australia; and (b) have personally consulted to at least 5 people with Parkinson’s that experience pain in the past 12-months.

What does participation involve?

Participation involves completing a one-on-one, 45 – 60minute interview via video conferencing.

Who is organising the study?

This study is part of a larger PhD research project being undertaken at the Rosemary Bryant AO Research Centre, the University of South Australia and is funded through an Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship and The Hospital Research Foundation Group – Parkinson’s.

All information collected for the study remains confidential in accordance with The Australian National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Human Research guidelines and the Australian Privacy Act.
