Shaken, Not Stirred Event at the Moose and Gibson Brisbane
Monday, 28th October 2013

The Moose & Gibson in Wooloongabba, Brisbane, was the scene for an evening of cocktails and canapés as Shake It Up supporter Penny Hoolihan hosted Brisbane’s inaugural ‘Shaken not Stirred‘ cocktail party in support of Shake It Up Australia Foundation.

Over 100 people attended the evening where fine food was served with enticing beverages, namely the timeless classic Dry Martini. So far the event has raised over $10,000 dollars for the Foundation with 100% of these funds going directly to the world’s best Parkinson’s research!

A BIG thanks must go to Penny Hoolihan, who engineered the fundraiser off the back of a couple of drinks with friends some months ago.

Shake It Up Australia would like to also thank Danielle, Malcolm, Scott and the team at the Moose & Gibson for putting on a truly unique evening! Additionally, the event played host to a hotly contested raffle with prizes generously donated by Byron @ Byron ResortK & L ElectricalCraggy Range Wines and Falls Festival producers Mixed Media Group.  Other significant corporate support was received from the well-known, Brisbane based building company Hutchinson Builders who generously donated the entertainment and Taylor Byrne who sponsored the martinis.

Penny’s event shows what can be achieved by a small group of people passionate about finding the cure for Parkinson’s. If you are inspired by Penny’s efforts why not create your own event in support of Shake it Up.
