Dominique Skips for Parkinson’s
Friday, 21st June 2013

Dominique is our Hero this week for creating her own fundraiser, Skipping for Parkinson’s.

Dominique skipped for 10 minutes every day for 100 days and ask her friends and family to support her, raising $365 and showing us that anyone can join the fight to find a cure for Parkinson’s.

Why did you choose Shake It up Australia Foundation?

My Friends dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. I wanted to support my friend Zoe but I also realised he was the same age as my Dad which made me think this could happen to anyone. I wanted to raise money for it because we can find a cure, it just takes time and effort and you can only do so if you believe you can.

What did you do to “Shake Things Up”

I raised money for Shake It Up by skipping for 10 minutes a day for 100 days and asked friends and family to sponsor me.

Greatest Challenge

The greatest challenge was when I became sick and I had to push through and keep skipping.

Greatest Reward

Was the smile on the Campbell’s faces when I told them I was doing this.

Best Advice

Is to soldier on no matter what because the outcome can change lives and it is important to keep fighting for the challenge, just like people with Parkinson’s do.
