Fun runs and physical challenges are a great way to get your friends and family talking about Parkinson’s and donating towards a cure. There are so many participation events across the country, including the Noosa Triathlon where our here Frank is hoping to Shake It Up.
What Drives Your Commitment to find a cure for Parkinson’s?
I have three good friends who have been tragically afflicted by this insidious disease and I have watched all three deteriorate and lose their quality of life and their families suffer as well. It is so frustrating there is no cure for this disease – yet – and if I can do anything to help them I will. So raising funds to assist with research for a cure is the least I can do.
Why Shake It Up Australia?
I was looking for a way to make it simple to set up a donation page for a cure for Parkinson’s that was easy to establish and tell my story, easy to distribute through social media or email and easy for donors to use. Shake It Up was exactly what I was looking for.
Tell us what you are doing/did to Shake Things Up?
I am competing in the Noosa Triathlon and am using this event to promote to my friends and family how lucky we are to enjoy good health and to promote how we can help those less fortunate – particularly those suffering from Parkinson’s.
Greatest Reward
Enjoying good health and beautiful family.
Best advice for people looking to Shake It Up?
Just do it! It’s easy and it feels good to be able to help in some small way. Find an event or make up an event, let your friends and family know and let them know why you are doing it and you want their help. People love to help when they can!
