Why? To raise funds and awareness in fight against Parkinson’s Disease
LIGHT of Day Australia 2017 Winter Gigs are just over a month away and ticket sales are stronger than all previous years.
Michael Spibey of the Badloves, Dreamboogie, Mark Lang, Gallie and Mike Rudd’s Spectrum are part of a massive 20 artist line up set to take over Ocean Grove on Friday July 21 and Saturday July 22.
The fourth annual Light of Day Australia Winter Gigs which raise funds and awareness in the fight against Parkinson’s Disease are part of an international family of shows spanning the US, Canada and Europe. The Ocean Grove one is the only one in Australia.
Musician and co-organiser Tony Armstrong said: “The “Winter Gigs” 2017 lineup of artists and musicians is probably one of the best Australian lineup’s we will see this year in Ocean Grove. I am so excited and proud to be a part of this great event this year.”
Last year the event sold out in all three venues and this year the organisers have proudly added Maggies Bar to the growing event, along with the Piping Hot Chicken and Burger Grill and the Olive Pit Café.
In the midst of winter something extraordinary happens in Ocean Grove. The Light of Day Winter Gigs return. In a town which seems to have its share of loss, there is a community ready to support its own. So as the tide of awareness of Parkinson’s Disease rises again, so does the need for research and funding.
We simply could not do this without the support of the community and our sponsors and musicians. We thank you all.
And not to forget our funding partners Shake it Up Foundation and Light of Day Foundation USA. Both organisations have raise millions for Parkinson’s Disease and we are proud of our contribution to these organisations each year. We are pleased to have as our guests at the Winter Gigs
Emma Colin, CEO of Parkinson’s Victoria.
Associate Professor David Finkelstein, head of the Parkinson’s Disease Laboratory at the Florey Institute of neuroscience and mental health.
Clyde and Carolyn Campbell, Founders of Shake it Up Australia.
In previous years artists have included saxophone player Eddie Manion from Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, Anthony D’Amato from New Jersey, Chris Wilson and Diesel, Rebecca Barnard and Marshal Okell.
The Winter Gigs are strongly supported by local businesses including Kingston Ocean Grove, Ocean Grove Real Estate and Ocean Grove Connected Communities.
