Lincoln Dews is a professional waterman and has made a name for himself as a Multiple time world champion, and high performance athlete. Featuring in some of the toughest ocean racing events on the globe.
Lincoln is a regular feature in iconic sports events such as The Molokai2Oahu paddleboard race, Sydney2hobart yacht race and Australian surf life saving titles.
Lincoln’s exposure to Parkinson’s disease, started at a young age. With his late grandfather suffering debilitating symptoms of Parkinson’s.
Fast forward 20 years and recently his father has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
“It’s been hard to watch someone who I’ve idolised, and shared a close connection with me effected by a disease like Parkinson’s.”
Lincoln and his father Geoff still often race together in premier offshore yacht races around Australia.
“I first learnt about ShakeItUp, through research trials dad was involved in.
And I’m very grateful for their vision and hard work of Shake It Up.”
Lincoln is a professional waterman and has made a name for himself in stand up paddle boarding, surfing, sailing and surf life saving. His passion and uncomprised motivation has seen one of the fastest growths in performance in the stand up paddle boarding league.
Over the last 4 years SUP racing has dominated my life. As one of the fastest expanding sports in the world and recognised as the most competitive physical endurance ocean sport, it’s become my obsession to one day become world champion. Over that last 8 years I’ve grown within the ocean paddling scene from a young grom who was stoked to line up against my idols to now starting to realise the reality of becoming a world champion is within my grasp.
Away from my own sport I’m in the process of studying a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science, while getting the opportunity to have experience within the industry while working at the Ocean Performance Centre, and helping develop the next generation of surfers, swimmers and athletes…”
