Long Family join the Tuscany Trek for Parkinson’s
Wednesday, 30th October 2019

Next year in September, Shake It Up is trekking through Tuscany to raise much needed funds and awareness for Parkinson’s disease. Our trek sold out so quickly, we have released a second trek which is filling fast. The Tuscany Trek is a great challenge to do with your family, which is exactly what the Long Family are doing. We spoke with Mum of the family, Jayne, about what this trek means to the Long’s and what they are looking forward to most.

What drives your commitment to a cure for Parkinson’s?

I am committed to help find a cure for Parkinson’s as I was diagnosed 5 years ago at 52 years old.  I still have a lot of life to go and I want it to be the best ever.

What inspired you to take on the Tuscany Trek together?

I decided to take on the Tuscany trek by myself as a challenge and then casually asked my children if they wanted to join me and I was so happy and excited when they all said yes.

What are you looking forward to most about the trip?

I am looking forward mostly to an experience of a lifetime with my family and to making new friends and to help find a cure to beat this disease so everyone can lead a better life. And also I love Tuscany I’ve been there once before and can’t wait to go back.
