Taylor walks 30km per day for Parkinson’s
Friday, 30th October 2020

Our hero this week is Taylor, who spent the month of September walking 30km per day for Shake It Up! Inspired by her grandfather with Parkinson’s, who sadly passed away, Taylor is continuing on with the challenge into October too.

Could you challenge yourself for Parkinson’s? It’s not as tricky as you might think! Come up with a way to challenge yourself (perhaps you could run, walk, cycle, dance or give up alcohol or sugar), set up a fundraising page and ask your friends and family to sponsor you. As we come into Spring, now is a great time to take advantage of the warmer weather while getting the message about Parkinson’s out there.

What motivates your commitment to a cure for Parkinson’s?

My grandfather sadly had Parkinson’s Disease and he passed away in 2015. It was horrible to see how the disease affected him. So any little bit I can help to increase the research funds and to help find a cure is amazing.

What did you do to ‘shake things up’?

I walked 30km each week for the month of September to get outside more and be more active in Victoria’s lockdown. Although, I have continued it in October as well!
