Liz has been our ambassador since we launched in 2011 and has been a strong supporter of the foundation in raising awareness for Parkinson’s.
We have loved seeing her participate in various events including the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival and the Bridge to Brisbane. She even tried her hand at mixing a martini by hosting an informal ‘Shaken, not Stirred’ event at the Hilton on the Gold Coast.
Liz is a well known Queensland media personality and is also the host of the Live Lotto Draws and a presenter on Creek to Coast and The Great South East. She is also seen regularly reading the Weather for Channel Seven and appearing on breakfast show Sunrise.
Liz has hosted summer radio programs for Nova, Sea FM and Hot Tomato. In 2013 she covered the Melbourne Cup for B105, interviewing the likes of Gerri Halliwell, Brody Jenner and Cadel Evans at Flemmington.
In 2012 she became an ambassador for Suzuki and starred in their ‘way of life’ TVC’s and campaigns.
What drives your commitment to find a cure for Parkinson’s?
I have lost both of my grandparents to Parkinson’s and I have seen first hand how it affects those around them. I am very passionate about finding a cure for Parkinson’s
Why Shake It Up Australia?
I really believe in Clyde Campbell and what he is doing to raise awareness and funds for research. It is truly unique for a charity to be able to say that 100% of all donations do in fact go to research.
Tell us what you are doing to Shake things up?
I am really excited to spread the message this month in the lead up to World Parkinson’s Day on the 11th April. I plan on being very active in using my profile to create awareness and promote the fact that Parkinson’s isn’t just an old person’s disease.
