All around Australia – we Pause 4 Parkinson’s
Thursday, 14th April 2016

With World Parkinson’s Day earlier this week, we are excited to share with you some of the fantastic fundraising events that have been happening around Australia. Below are just a handful of events that have taken place so far – with many exceeding their fundraising targets! Events are still happening throughout April – so there is still time to get involved.

Lennox Head IGA

The team at Lennox Head IGA made sure all the cars in the area sparkled at their car wash for a cure on Sunday 10 April.

There was plenty of fun had by all, but most of all, they were pleased  by the amount of support from locals, raising over $800 on the day!

Melanie Smith

Shake It Up Event Manager Melanie teamed up with her mum Roslyn to host a beautiful morning tea for family and friends.

With an array of delicious savories and sweets, beautiful decorations and some amazing raffle prizes, Mel and Roslyn raised $1,000.

2nd Chance Building Supplies

The team at 2nd Chance Building Supplies rallied behind their staff member with Parkinson’s Brian by hosting their own Pause 4 Parkinson’s sausage sizzle!

The whole team stopped by for the fundraising lunch, including local police officers – there to support the cause. Their hard work paid off, with the team raising over $1,700!

Brooke and Chelsee

A morning tea success for Brooke and Chelsea who were joined by 17 adults, 2 kids and 2 babies for their Pause 4 Parkinson’s morning tea on Monday!

The girls set up an online fundraising page encouraging people to support Australian Parkinson’s research, as well as holding a raffle on the day (with a big thanks to The Coffee Club at Cockburn Gateways for the donated coffee vouchers).

They exceeded their fundraising target by raising a total of $1,400 at their event!

Bev’s Bright Sparks

Bev and her Bright Sparks team threw one amazing fundraising night last Thursday 7 April in La Perouse.

There was delicious food, fantastic cocktails and some amazing raffle prizes up for grabs.

With the venue – Little Lily’s, also throwing their support behind the night, Bev’s Bright sparks raised almost $6,000!

Victoria Danielsen

Victoria, along with her sisters Emily and Belinda gathered over 50 of their friends and family to Pause 4 Parkinson’s. Their mum, who is living with Parkinson’s is the driving force behind their successful event, inspiring the girls to raise close to $3,000!
