Today, Pedal 4 Parkinson’s are hitting the road for their trip from Melbourne to Sydney. Over the next 10 days, they will be riding and raising money along the way to assist research into finding a cure!
Co-founder of Pedal For Parkinson’s Vaughan Prout was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease at the age of just 33. With a young family at his side, he wasn’t ready to become passive to Parkinson’s. Instead, his thoughts turned to “what can I do to help others in the same situation”.
The route takes riders to Eastern Victoria through towns such as Leongatha, Woodside Beach, Bairnsdale, Orbost, Mallacoota and onto the beautiful East-Coast of New South Wales passing through Merimbula, Batemans Bay, Kiama before reaching their destination of Sydney.
Keep an eye out for Vaughan and the team as they ride through your town. You can even join Vaughan for one or a few stages.
