Our annual awareness and fundraising campaign Pause 4 Parkinson’s runs through the month of April in celebration of World Parkinson’s Day on 11 April. Here at Shake It Up the team has been busy talking with corporate sponsors and individuals who have come on board this year to support Pause 4 Parkinson’s.

Last year we raised $170,000 from the campaign and this year we want to smash that record but we need your help. It’s not too late to get involved and we encourage you to visit our website to see how you or your company can become a part of Pause 4 Parkinson’s.

A big thank you to our many sponsors so far this year including Westfield, Telum, PD Warrior, Active Tree Services, Teva, Hutchinson Builders, Exto Partners and our campaign sponsors oOh! Media, TVSN  and Seven West Media,

If you are living with Parkinson’s we highly recommend you register for the Insight Into PD Virtual Summit which runs from 11 to 13 April. This is a world first being organised by the team at PD Warrior and brings together a diversified mix of experts, academics, specialists, clinicians and people living with Parkinson’s. The Virtual Summit is a new way to gather INSIGHT and hear from over 30 excellent presenters, all in the convenience of your own home! We have a special offer exclusively for our Shake It Up community. When you register for the conference Shake It Up can offer you a 25% discount – get your special code today. Proceeds from the conference will be donated to Shake It Up helping us to further our research.  You can check out the program and register here.

Professor Simon Lewis has released a very informative video “Living with Parkinson’s – A Survival Guide”. Simon delves into the pathology of Parkinson’s while tackling topics such as Genetics, the environment, smoking, caffeine and even prion disease.   He also discusses the various symptoms of Parkinson’s such as tremor, rigidity, gait, speech, sleep, constipation, depression and anxiety.

Don’t miss your chance to join the Camino for a Cure trek for Parkinson’s in Spain. We will be finalising bookings for this trip of a lifetime at the end of March so don’t delay. Enquire today to learn more about how you could join an incredible trekking experience this September in support of Shake it Up Australia.
