Buon Ricordo fundraising event raises $26,000 for Parkinson’s
Saturday, 24th November 2018

On Thursday 16 November 2017 Shake It Up was the beneficiary of a very special fundraising dinner at Buon Ricordo restaurant in Paddington. Armando Percuoco and his team prepared a mouth watering 6 course degustation dinner with matching wines in support of his dear friend Paolo Totaro who has Parkinson’s disease.

Paolo had recently supported Shake It Up with a joint creative exhibition themed around his series of poems titled Trembling Man with artists Juliette Holmes a Court and Ruth Levine. Armando visited the exhibition and offered to further support his friend by donating his famous restaurant to help raise funds to support Parkinson’s research in Australia aimed at funding improved treatments to slow the progression of Parkinson’s and ultimately find a cure. Many of Armando’s suppliers also joined in to donate their products in support of the event. A true show of friendship and collaboration for a worthy cause.

Through the support of Ambassador Phoebes Garland and her colleagues in the fashion industry and Shake It Up volunteer Dee Zambelli the evening also included many silent auction items which helped to raise $26,000 for Shake It Up.

Thank you to all those who attended the event and to the many companies who donated and a very big thank you to Armando for his extraordinary generosity in hosting this event.
