Lincoln’s 200km Paddle Board Challenge
Friday, 4th September 2020

Shake It Up Ambassador and professional waterman, Lincoln Dews, recently challenged himself to a 200km paddle boarding challenge with a friend for Shake It Up.

The challenge will took 4 days and involved white water rapids and waterfalls! Their goal was to finish the entire run, non stop and unassisted, catching what sleep they could on the river bed. The trip didn’t go quite to plan but it was a huge learning experience for Lincoln.

Lincoln Dews is a professional waterman and has made a name for himself as a multiple time world champion, and high performance athlete, featuring in some of the toughest ocean racing events on the globe.

Lincoln’s exposure to Parkinson’s disease, started at a young age. With his late grandfather suffering debilitating symptoms of Parkinson’s. Fast forward 20 years and recently his father has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s.

“It’s been hard to watch someone who I’ve idolised, and shared a close connection with me effected by a disease like Parkinson’s.”

Lincoln and his father Geoff still often race together in premier offshore yacht races around Australia.

Lincoln is inspired by his father’s Parkinson’s diagnosis to make a difference and support research towards a cure. Have a look below at Lincoln’s video of the challenge.
