Is 2021 the year you challenge yourself for Parkinson’s?

Be inspired by our hero this week, Alexandra, who challenged herself for Parkinson’s in November last year. Alexandra decided to walk 10km per day in November ON TOP OF her regular incidental exercise. That means she walked a huge 300km over the month!

Could you challenge yourself for Parkinson’s? It’s not as tricky as you might think! Come up with a way to challenge yourself, set up a fundraising page and ask your friends and family to sponsor you. Find out more today.

What drives your commitment to a cure for Parkinson’s?

Being a disability support worker I have had first hand experience on the effects of Parkinsons and are really passionate on raising awareness for such a disease that affects so many.

What did you do to ‘shake things up’?

I challenged myself to walk 10km every day of November with the intention of not including kms that I walked in my job, or at the gym.

What advice do you have for other fundraisers looking to challenge themselves?

Find something that you know will test your strength, willpower and determination. Remember your WHY and be brave to achieve your challenge goal!!

As we navigate 2021 together, Shake It Up would like to thank our supporters who have been so integral to our success in 2020.
