Close to 110,000 Australians live with Parkinson’s Disease.

While often associated with the elderly, the average age of diagnosis is just 65.

Co-Founder of the Shake It Up Foundation, Clyde Cambell was diagnosed with Parkinson’s eight years ago.

He tells Chris Smith he was 44-years-old at the time and “bulletproof healthy”.

“20% of us are under 50.

“We can treat the symptoms but we can’t treat the progression of the disease.

“If we can pick it up early, and slow it down… and you won’t have the effects of the disease.”

He tells Chris we don’t have treatments to do that just yet, but says we may only be two or three years off.
